Dr Kongolo Kalumba

MB ChB FCPI FRACP

Consultant Paediatrician and Paediatric Clinical Haematologist

  

Clinical Interests                  

Dr Kalumba is a fellow of Royal Australasian College of Physicians, Consultant Paediatrician and a Clinical Haematologist. He has broad experience in all paediatric conditions including neonatology, growth and development, asthma, infections,  eczema, behavioural problems including ADHD & Autism Spectrum Disorders, and in particular specialized in blood disorders.

                         

Background and Experience                    

Dr Kalumba trained as a paediatrician at the Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne, in addition to his previous paediatric training including Fellowship with the College of Medicine of South Africa. He undertook further training in  Haematology in Melbourne at the Royal Children’s Hospital, Peter Mac Cancer Center and Melbourne Pathology, including Laboratory Medicine.

 

He is accredited with Cabrini, Jessie McPherson Private Hospital, Waverly Private Hospital, Knox Private Hospital, Peninsula Private Hospital and The Bays Private Hospital. He also works as visiting specialist in numerous hospitals across Australia. He has strong interest in teaching medical students and junior doctors, in research, and has been involved in the number of publications.

 

Dr Kalumba had also practiced paediatrics in various countries including D.R Congo, Zambia, Lesotho and South Africa.

 

He speaks numerous other languages including French.

   

Dr Khaing Zar Wai 

FRACP MBBS MPH DCH

Consultant Paediatrician

 

Clinical Interests    

Dr Wai is a compassionate and enthusiastic paediatrician. She holds a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS), Master of Public Health (Monash University) and Diploma in Child Health (University of Sydney). Referrals for various medical, behavioural and developmental paediatric patients are all welcomed, including not limited to, newborns, feeding difficulties, sleeping difficulties, poor growth, seizures, asthma, eczema, allergy, incontinence, constipation, infectious disease, immigrant health and behavioural and developmental concerns such as Autism diagnosis, ADHD, developmental delay and school refusal. 

 

Background and Experience   

Dr Wai achieved Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians through her training at Child and Adolescent Health Service, Western Australia. Being a mother of two young children herself, Dr Wai has a good understanding and first-hand experience of the challenges of parenting and the importance of a quality health care for children. She is very passionate about doing her best for the patients and being a caring advocate for children. Dr Wai is fluent in both English and Burmese language.

 

 

Dr Brendan Lacey

General Paediatrician

 

Clinical Interests    

Dr. Brendan Lacey is a general paediatrician working in southeast Melbourne and regional Victoria. He does a combination of public work with Eastern Health and West Gippsland Healthcare Group (Warragul Hospital). As well at privately through South East Melbourne Paediatrics, St John Of God, Mitcham Private, and Waverly Private Hospitals. His interests lie in a wide variety of General Paediatric issues, including neonatal and infant health, asthma and eczema, constipation, ADHD and autism spectrum disorders, adolescent medicine, allergy and immigrant/refugee health.

 

Background and Experience   

After completing his graduate medical degree at Deakin University, Brendan trained in general paediatrics at The Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne. He received his Fellowship through the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and has also gained broad experience working in many paediatric units across Melbourne including emergency, neonatal and developmental paediatrics.

Brendan also has a number of research publications and has contributed to several clinical practice guidelines currently published by the Royal Children’s Hospital.

Outside of medicine Brendan also holds bachelor’s degrees in engineering and science and worked in these fields around the world. In his spare time, he enjoys running, spending time with his young family and is an avid reader of anything and everything.

 

 

Mr Tom Clarnette

MBBS MD FRACS (Paeds)

Paediatric Surgeon

 

Clinical Interests

Tom Clarnette is a respected and experienced Paediatric Surgeon who currently consults and operates publically at the Royal Children's Hospital, Monash Children's Hospital, Sunshine Hospital and Goulburn Valley Hospital in Shepparton and has private consulting and surgical sessions at Northpark Private Hospital in Bundoora. He has held his position as a consultant surgeon in the Department of Paediatric and Neonatal Surgery at The Royal Children's Hospital since 2004. 

 

Today, Tom performs almost all of the paediatric hepatobiliary surgery in Melbourne and Victoria. 

 

At Northpark, Tom regularly performs the following day procedures:

  • Orchidopexy
  • Repair of umbilical, epigastric and inguinal herniae
  • Wedge Resection
  • Circumcision
  • Division of tongue tie or upper frenulum

 

Background and Experience   

Mr Clarnette graduated from the University of Adelaide Medical School in 1988, before completing his surgical training in both South Australia and Victoria. At the conclusion of his paediatric surgical training, he undertook three and a half years of post-fellowship training in the United Kingdom. This included 18 months at Kings College Hospital, London, specialising in hepatobiliary surgery in children, which remains his key area of interest. 

 

As a father to two young children himself, Tom's friendly and understanding manner will be appreciated by both the patient and their family. 

   

Dr Anutosh Shee

MD MRCPCH FRACP

Consultant Paediatrician and Clinical Lecturer

 

Clinical Interests                  

Dr Anutosh Shee is a fellow of Royal Australasian College of Physicians, Consultant Paediatrician and a Clinical Lecturer at the Monash University. He has broad experience in all paediatric conditions including neonatology, growth and development, asthma and other respiratory illnesses, infections, eczema, developmental and behavioural problems including ADHD & Autism Spectrum Disorders, learning difficulty, bed wetting and daytime incontinence issues, child and adolescent psychiatric conditions such as anxiety, depression, bipolar and eating disorder and paediatric endocrine conditions such as diabetes and thyroid disorders. He is also a member of the Neurodevelopmental and Behavioural Paediatric Society of Australasia.

                         

Background and Experience                    

Dr Shee trained as a paediatrician in Victoria and Tasmania and worked in several hospitals in metropolitan and regional centres including at the Sunshine Hospital in Melbourne. He has years of experience in general paediatrics but particularly interested in developmental behavioural paediatrics and was involved in the training at the Centre for Community Child Health at Royal Children’s Hospital, Melbourne.

 

Dr Shee believes in bringing in new technology to improve patient care and satisfaction. He was in the Medical Advisory Council body of the Northwest Regional Hospital and developed his passion in private practice in paediatrics. He has strong interest in teaching medical students and junior doctors, in research, and has been involved in the number of publications.

 

Dr Shee had also practiced paediatrics in various countries including UAE and India.

 

He speaks numerous other languages including Hindi and Bengali.

   

Dr Ahmad Mansour

Clinical Interests                  

Dr Ahmad has wide experience in managing various general paediatric conditions such as infant feeding & growth, food intolerance, asthma, eczema, bowel and bladder issues, sleep related disorders, migraine, epilepsy, developmental delay, diagnosis & management of autism, ADHD & other behavioural conditions.

                         

Background and Experience                    

Dr Ahmad is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and Consultant Paediatrician. He completed his paediatric training in Australia and has also worked at several hospitals in Victoria including the Royal Children's Hospital, Monash Medical Centre and Warragul Hospital.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Mrs Belinda Dan

Educational & Developmental Psychologist

 

Clinical Interests

Belinda Dan is an Educational and Developmental Psychologist, qualified teacher, and Director of Connecting Kids. Belinda has worked in both primary and secondary school settings as a psychologist for more than 7 years, and has been in private practice for more than 10 years.

 

Background and Experience

Belinda is passionate about working with children and their families to provide individualised support. Belinda enjoys conducting assessments to work out what is going on for the child, and then developing strategies to target their needs, to help them reach their potential.

 

Belinda loves learning, and believes that learning is a life-long experience. She loves attending professional development, collaborating with colleagues, and learning about more resources that are available. Belinda is also trained to deliver the Cogmed program, which is an evidence-based cognitive training program for anyone who wants to sustainably improve their working memory capacity.

 

Belinda developed Kids Book Therapy, a website that aims to help children to further develop their social and emotional skills through books, activities and reflective questions.
